About FORWARD Nigeria

Foundation for Women Health Research and Development (FORWARD) Nigeria was formed in 1996 and registered as a charity in 1997 and has since worked in the community addressing community health and development. FORWARD's work focuses on women's and children's health through addressing physical, psychological and socio-economic wellbeing.

In order to achieve its mission, the organisation seeks to empower women and community based organisations (CBO) through functional education, raising awareness on their human rights and promoting social changes that are real, positive and lasting.

About our work

FORWARD Nigeria is at the forefront in addressing issues of reproductive and sexual health at local and international levels. FORWARD is against gender based violence, physical and psychological abuse, trafficking women and girls, and other forms of abuse that are degrading to women. We are also engaged in enlightenment campaigns aimed at educating women and men to have access to effective, affordable and acceptable methods of spacing children.
